Burning Windows

Here, we show you how to add the famous "burn" animation when closing windows. First of all, make sure you have Desktop Effects (Compiz Fusion) enabled. The following Official Ubuntu documentation will help you with this:

Once this is enabled, install the "Compiz Config Settings Manager" package: 

  sudo apt-get update
  sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager

Run the Compiz Config Settings Manager:

Make sure "Animations Add-Ons" is ticked and then select "Animations":

Under the "Close Animation" tab, change the top entry in the list to "Burn". Tweak the duration to speed-up or slow-down the effect.
